Procter & Gamble and Transportation | Warehouse Optimization
Introduce New Truck-loading Technology

Nashville, TN, February 20, 2001— The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) and Moore and Associates, the parent Company of Transportation | Warehouse Optimization, LLC, have reached an agreement authorizing Transportation | Warehouse Optimization to make AutoLoaderT3 available to its customers. AutoLoaderT3 is an innovative truck loading system developed by Transportation | Warehouse Optimization and pioneered by P&G.
Over the years, P&G has realized benefits and savings from its family of proprietary intelligent logistics software technologies. The AutoLoaderT3 system is one of these technologies. Most notably, the AutoLoaderT3 technology improves logistics operations by reducing the time needed to load trucks while maximizing cube/weight utilization in the trailer. Additionally, the company has seen less product damage and improved ability to meet specific customer requirements for product groupings and placement. As a result, P&G is in the process of implementing AutoLoaderT3 as part of its standard global warehouse management system (WMS).

AutoLoaderT3 can be integrated with a full functioning (client-server or mainframe-based) WMS or it can be installed on a stand-alone PC. Regardless of hardware platform, AutoLoaderT3 uses an expert rule-driven “planning engine” or algorithm that can help companies of any size and in any industry to load trailers with greater efficiency. AutoLoaderT3 is also compatible and easily integrated with AutoPalletP3, the case-picking software from Moore & Associates, for seamless operation.

Procter & Gamble markets 300 brands to five billion consumers in 140 countries. P&G invests nearly $2 billion a year to develop and improve its products -- leading the way in R&D globally among consumer products companies. P&G’s Global Licensing and External Ventures Organization is charged with ensuring the company maximizes the value of its “treasure trove” of technologies for P&G shareholders. That includes selling, licensing, and in some cases, donating these technologies. The unit is also responsible for licensing select P&G brand trademarks.

Transportation | Warehouse Optimization, LLC, a unit of Moore & Associates, was formed to commercialize custom software developed by the firm. Moore & Associates is a Nashville, TN-based consultancy specializing in transportation, distribution, warehousing and manufacturing.
