"I sat in on the admin training for APAL [AutoPalletP3 + AutoLoaderT3] yesterday and I think it is slicker than deer guts on a door knob. It appears that APAL thinks of everything!!! The warehouse folks also thought it was going to work very well".

AutoPalletP3

Play the case-pick game  (requires  shockwave)

AutoPalletP3 takes order data and converts it into instructions to pick a high-productivity, high-cube,  damage-free pallet. The benefits include a 10-20% improvement in case-pick productivity, the virtual elimination of transit damage and much faster picker training.

AutoPalletP3 (originally developed for Procter & Gamble) takes the combined experience of a dozen expert warehouse workers and converts this valuable knowledge into a fast, sophisticated software package. AutoPalletP3 is a sophisticated multi-threading optimization system designed to support an entire enterprise. While P & G was already recognized as possessing some of the best warehousing and distribution operations, AutoPalletP3 has helped them make the next improvement leap in the areas of productivity and damage elimination, while supporting faster training and enhanced customer service.

AutoPalletP3 reduces your transportation costs and increases profitability by:

Eliminating case picking damage
Reducing pick errors
Increasing pick rates (cases per hour)
Reducing training time and costs
Increasing efficiency in loading vehicles
Eliminating high lifts - often a cause of worker injuries
Customizing pallet load configuration for each customer.  So, for example, if a customer site has pallet rack that can only accomodate 46" pallets, AutoPalletP3 can make the right height pallets for this customer location -- and the customer location only

Case Study:  A beverage distributor can't live without AutoPalletP3

With a high turnover in case pickers, AutoPalletP3 has enabled this 300,000 case/year beverage distributor to bring new workers up to speed quickly.  But when a comunications failure prevented the AutoPalletP3 pick lists from getting to the workers, things rapidly ground to a near halt.  While picklists from the ERP (route accounting)  system were generated, no AutoPalletP3 picklist could be produced becasue the link between the two computers was damaged.  It was all-hands to the warehouse.  Even so, the slump in productivity was so bad that route-departure times were missed bady.  The warehouse manager, Hunter Sprague, indicated that "we never knew just how much we relied on AutoPalletP3.  From my end, I'll do everthing I have to do to make sure it NEVER happens again.
